The 'Tavistock' Model of Organisational Analysis and Consultancy- does it exist and if so........what is it?

Well, let's start with the Tavistock which, relatively recently, has a whole new connotation that we won't go into here. The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations (TIHR) is, in nutshell, the longstanding centre of psychoanalytic training, treatment and development in the UK.

Historically, part of its remit has been to use insights gained from individual and group-analytic psychotherapy in the wider and deeper field of organisations and/or institutions.

In this case 'insights' means: Theories as to how individuals develop, psychologically, emotionally and operationally from birth to adulthood and how this process involves both conscious but also UNCONSCIOUS processes.

These insights are now used to understand what goes on in organisations that consciously but mainly UNCONSCIOUSLY undermines the tasks of that organisation.

This is what the following post will explain.
